FIND LOTS OF HELP
If there is one thing that you need to take away from this, I want it to be this. No event like this can ever take place without the help of wonderful, caring helpers. Finding people to help set up, assist with various needs throughout the event such as working with food / drinks, collecting money (raffles), collecting donations, handing out fliers, and cleaning up. You will need a crew to pull it off.
I was blessed with a wonderful bunch of friends and family and know that without them, the event never would have taken place. I will never be able to thank each of them enough. They all did so much more than I ever expected and helped to make the day run so very smoothly.
BE READY TO WORK
I say be ready to work, but once the event is underway and you are taking it all in and seeing the good that is coming from it, you will not see this as work, but as just one more blessing. What an amazing feat!
You will be hopping from one task to the next as there is always something that needs to be done and you should prepare yourself for this in advance. Know going in that you may not have time to sit and socialize with your friends, family and all those that have come to support your efforts.
