Charity Event 101 – Learn from it

in Charity Event 101,FOR THE GOOD OF OTHERS

After hosing the Back to School Social in August, I learned things immediately that I needed to do better this time. Each time is a learning experience that allows you to continue to improve and grow.  Take those things that made you stumble and don’t view them as failures; view them as learning tools.

  1. I learned that I need to give more hype to the donors at the time of announcing the winners.  I feel I could have done a better job at that time.  (Lesson learned).
  2. I learned just how needed and appreciated the helpers were.  I had no idea that I would need that much help.  Thank God for special people.
  3. I learned that even when you think you have every detail planned, something will always go not as planned.
  4. I learned that tubs work out great when filled with ice for drinks.

I hope that these posts help you to get a better understanding of what kinds of things to take into consideration when planning an event.  I hope that you also remember though that this is all just the notes from a rookie that as of this posting has only one event under her belt – working on #2.  I will continue to learn and improve as will you when you get started!

Good luck and as always, you know where to find me.
