THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!
I was recently given the opportunity to shop Save-A-Lot for the very first time recently.
While preparing for the Christmas Crusade charity event, I was contacted and asked to help spread the word about Save-A-Lot’s $5.00 store coupon. I was told that they would give me a $15 gift certificate for my trip to check it out and an additional gift certificate for one of YOU!
I explained that I had never been to a Save-A-Lot, but I would love to check it out. I told them that this $15 would be great for the crusade as sponsorship was low this year and can you believe that they came back and offered to sponsor all of the snacks, water and kids drinks for the event. I was sent gift cards for this and was able to explore the store in great depth to get what we needed!
As soon as we walked through the door, I noted that the store was a smaller store. They do not have huge varieties of various products, but by doing this, they are able to offer lower prices on many items. I took video of my trip, but unfortunately I am unable to share this with you as I am having some “technical difficulties”, so I am going to have to relay in writing what a few of my bargain finds were:
- Old Folks Country Sausage Patties – 3 lb box – $7.49 This is regular priced at $9.99 at Kroger!
- Amour Lunchmakers – $0.99 These are sale priced at $0.99 at Kroger, but regular priced at $1.49!
- Lunchables (with drink) – $2.39 At Kroger, you can expect to pay $2.50.
You will not find a pharmacy.
You will not find a bakery or a deli.
You will find a small produce section.
You will be able to use your manufacturer coupons, but they will not double. Their prices overall are comparable or lower, so doubling should not be an issue.
Right now, they are offering some HOT coupons!
- $5.00 of your $20 trip to Save-A-Lot
- Save up to $10.00 on Save-A-Lot’s holiday favs
- Sign up to receive a P&G coupon booklet with $15.00 in savings
I am sure you I have your attention and so now I want to give you an extra reason to head over and check out Save-A-Lot! As I told you above, I have been given a $15 gift card to give away to one lucky reader. GO HERE to see if you have a Save-A-Lot in your area. If you are interested in visiting and checking out their deals, sign up to win below.
This giveaway is valid starting at the time of this posting and will end on Friday, January 8th at 7pm. A winner will be selected via random.org and will be announced no later than Saturday, January 9th at 12 mid. The winner will have 48 hours to respond to the email notification or a new winner will be selected. This gift card will be send to you directly from me (supplied by Save-A-Lot).

Seven miles is not too bad…I have never been there but would love to try it!
I have shopped at Save A Lot, and find that their prices are lower than any other store that I shop at and alot of their brand items are as good as higher priced name brands, especially their can goods and customer service in my are is excellent!!
I’d love to visit a SAVE-A-LOT! One just opened around the corner from where I work and I hear the prices are great!
There is a Save-A-Lot in Bellevue, which is not too far from me. I’m over there pretty often anyway. There used to be one in Covington too on Madison Avenue, however, in the last couple of years it has closed. I go to Save-A-Lot, just to check out prices and comparisons. They have alot to offer for being such a small store. But if you check frequently, you can find some good deals!
Sara, Fort Mitchell
Sav-A-Lot YES we have a store in Greensburg KY
I have been a customer for years! Prices are normally lower than other grocery stores. The quality of their brands are just as good as any name brand I have purchased!
Before we had a store here I would drive approximately 40 minutes to shop at one of their stores. At this time you bagged your own groceries!!!!
Employees are helpful and with changes to the merchandise displays they are REALLY helpful when you can’t find an item.
There is a Save-A-Lot in Columbia TN just a couple of miles from my house. I have shopped there several times. I just used the $5.00 store coupon. I’m sure I’ll be back!
My husband manages a Save a lot here in Tulsa. I would love to win this so he can do a bit of freebee shopping!!
Yes I have been to our Save a Lot, did not know they took coupons , Thanks for the info, am excited …!!
I have been to the Save a Lot in Bellevue Ky, once, just recently. It was smaller, but I did find a couple of deals. I would love to go back
We have a Save-a-lot in madisonville KY and I have been to it once. It is an older store and kinda run down but this was before I started couponing so it sounds like I should give it another chance.
I have never been to Save-A-Lot and would love to give it a try
I have heard about Save-A-Lot before but never tried the store. Would love to check it out however.
The stores in our area are very small, but I have been able to get some good deals.
I love shopping at our local Save-A-Lot for specials
*Thanks* for the giveaway!
Yes, I have been to the one right here in Bellevue behind McDonalds. It is a spend thrift visit where (like Biggs) you have to bag your own groceries. They do have some brand name items, but you will find the off brands to be just as good. I don’t think I was aware they took coupons. It reminds me of the “grocery stores” in Israel with next to no variety. This brings me to two questions: Who owns these stores & are they an American based business.
Think I’l check it out again soon.
I love Save-A-Lot. I only have to walk across the street from where I work to shop there. I didn’t know they take coupons though.
We are an unemployed family here in Florida, Shopping at Save-A-Lot has been such a help to us during our tough times. We would love to win the gift card – It would be greatly appreciated!
Love your website too : )
I have visited Sav-a-Lot. I am always amazed at how much I take home for such a little bit of money.
I have a sav a lot minutes from my house–I like to get some produce items –bananas are always .33/lb–they also have great markdown produce (bagged salad, cole slaw) and markdown meats–I recently bought several pounds of hamburger for .99/lb and boneless pork chops for 1.59/lb. I never know what I’ll come home with there but its always great!
We have two SAL’s in my town (Jackson, MI), but although I always say I am going to stop in to one of them I never seem to get there. This gift card along with the coupons I just requested would be just the push I need!!
I have never heard of Save-A-Lot until reading your blog today. I went to their website and found several of their stores nearby. I plan to visit the stores soon. I am all for finding more ways to save money, buying groceries and other items. Thank you for sharing so much with everyone to help us all find more ways to save money.
I visit Save a Lot about twice a month. I go there for the “manager specials” on there meat. I always come out of there with more than I wanted as I usually see specials I can’t pass up! The manager is super nice too! I even have a save a lot reusable grocery bag!
I would love to visit and Save A Lot! I have been wanting to check out Save A Lot and this would be a great motivation!
I never knew this store existed until I read this post. There is one about 11 miles away, and after looking at the circular, it seems worth at least a monthly trip!
I’ve been going there for over a year. They have great prices on their meat section.
I have never beeen to a Save a Lot but would love to go!
There is a Save a Lot nearby and I’ve been wanting to check them them out for a while now. The gift card would be the perfect excuse!
I have not been to Sav-A-Lot but would love to check it out. Thanks for the giveaway!
i’d like to try the local SAL and see how far i could stretch the gift card.
Interestingly the closest Save a Lot is in the same shopping center as one of our Kroger’s. I frequently have shopped both in the same trip.
I live 2 Blocks from our Clinton Twp. Sav a Lot, so I go there quite often. Wholly Guacuamole is 1.00 and with the coupon it’s free. also, bounty single rolls run 79 cents with the 1.00 off 2 coupon it’s about .29 cents a roll, and that’s a great deal.
We have a Save a Lot about 5 miles from our home, and I’ve gotten some great deals there! I’d love to win this!
I would LOVE your card for Sav-A-Lot. I live about a mile away from ours. I have shopped their stores for about 15 years now.
I buy most canned items there and seasonings; HUGE savings. I always check out their prices, sometimes they are higher and sometimes lower than Kroger. You can find some GREAT buys at times.
I LOVE Sav-A-Lot too!! I first started shopping there in Trumansburg NY, which was a wonderful store!! very clean and always well stocked. When we moved to NKY, I shopped at the Newport store every week. Now we are in Union, and wish there was one as convenient as our Kroger!
I’ve never been to Save-A-lot though we do have them were we live now. I’d love to try them. I’m always up for a good deal.
I’m always up to try new shopping experiences especially when I have an incentive. If they save you money it can’t be bad. Has anyone tried there brands to see how good they are? Is this similar to Aldi’s stores?
We do have a Save-A-Lot here in town, and I go there on occassion. I buy lots of cans goods there.
We have a S-A-L less from a mile from our house…I go there sometimes. Their prices are ok (Aldi is a little better) but we often get coupon for free milk with a $10 purchase or $5/$20 that makes a trip to S-A-L worthwhile. Ours has a large hispanic foods section and good meat prices. All in all they are nice to have near.
I love save a lot, the one in my area is huge and they have great meat sales
I have been to one a few times. I thought that some prices were good… but some seemed to be more expensive than where I usually shop.
I have not been to save a lot but have recently received coupons in the mail from them. i’ve been contemplating driving to bellevue to check it out!
I have been to Save-A-Lot when I was in a neighboring town for a child’s activities. I like the no nonsense approach and that they will take coupons and credit cards — because that’s what I had on me.
I have one just a few miles from my work. And just got a couple book in the mail for them.
I would LOVE to try SAVE – A – Lot, and the gift card would sure spur that on!! They are not convenient location wise for me, but I will go OUT OF MY WAY to shop there since they were so helpful to you with the Christmas Crusade!! I want to support a business that helps others in the community!! Glad they did that – You had a BIG job to do, I’m glad you got this extra help. I know you helped so many, by having this event!!
BTW, I “won” the children’s fun assortment donated by Cincinnati Cents. Since my kids are 22 and 23, we donated all the items to the Salvation Army for Christmas Angel tree wishes. We live an exit from Kings Island, but our malls had no Angel Trees. When we were over at Florence Mall after stopping at the Christmas Crusade, we were shocked and saddened to see how many names were still left with wishes to be fulfilled, so we did some shopping and came back the next week to help a few off the tree. Well, when we received the stuff I won at the Christmas Crusade, we decided we could now help a few more, so we added a few things and left them for the Salvation Army to distribute. Just thought you’d like to know the “circle of giving” continued!! Sorry you spent so much postage mailing it to me, but really appreciate your wonderful caring spirit!! Rose d Garden is lucky to have you, as are your readers!!
We have two Save A Lot’s by our home and I do alot of shopping for can goods, snacks and staples. They have good deals and accept coupons.
I have a Save-A-lot a few miles from me. I like stopping there about 3 times a month
I used to shop at Save-a-Lot ALL the time when I was in college. That store literally enabled me to eat at all some weeks! I still go there once in a while for staples like sugar and flour. Its an awesome store.
I LOVE Save-A-Lot and go there every chance I get. The closest one to me is about 25 minutes away, so I don’t go as often as I would like too, but when I do go I stock up! It is INSANE how much food you can come out of there with for so little money! It always shocks me!
I’ve been there before and was pretty impressed, however most of their items are priced just a bit higher than Aldi. But if we didn’t have an Aldi nearby, it would be my store of choice (and still is sometimes).
i would love to try the store i am a savings freak if it save a penny it is a penny earned pennys add i love savings
I’ve shopped at SAL before, but not recently. A $15 gift card would certainly be incentive enough to make the trip worthwile.
A $15 dollar gift card would be a good incentive to check out save a lot for the first time.
I have never been to a Save a Lot but one opened not far from me. I would love to go visit the new store with a $15 GC.
$15 gift card would help make a trip to Save A Lot so much better
I’m ready to try this new store. Never heard of them till now.
I haven’t ever been to Sav A Lot, but just found out there’s one not too far from me and have been wanting to try it out!
I love Sav A Lot, but don’t get there as much as I should for the great deals! I would love to win a $15 GC!
I love Sav A Lot, but don’t get there as much as I should for the great deals! I would love to win a $15 GC!
I shop at save a lot. I really like the cheap prices and the food is good. I espically like to get the frozen chicken breast strips in an easy zip top bag.
I believe I have visited Save A Lot several years ago. It reminded me of Aldis, but honestly not as nice in my area. I haven’t been there for years, but if I win I’m curious about their produce.
I m the mom of 7 children, the majority boys. As they grew my food budget at the others stores became too much for my budget. It was then I found Save-A-lot. My children are now grown but I still Like the major savings I get. The food is great!
The cheddar popcorn is awesome and half the price of a major brand.
I agree the store is not as large but who has to shop in a pretty grocery when you can leave with a great deal for the dollar and more money in your wallet.
I have been going to S-A-L for many years and always said the store was one of the best kept secrets in northern Ky! You must know your prices before shopping there as the prices are higher on many of their items carried by Kroger, Meijer as they can buy larger bulks. I think SAL has really good prices on their meats especially when they reduce them.
I love Save-a-lot :<)
