Tropicana Rewards and the Cincinnati Fire Museum

Tropicana's Juicy Rewards

You may remember that I posted THIS a few days ago regarding the Tropicana Juicy Rewards program and gave you that quick tutorial to show you how to use the program.  In that post, I let you know that we were going to be going to the Cincinnati Fire Museum with 2 points, giving us 1/2 off admission.

Well, today was our day of fun!  My hubs was not feeling up to going (still has his days since his knee replacement) so my cousin and her kids went along.  My son is the one wearing the fire helmet because as you may also remember, he IS a firefighter!

I was rather impressed with the fire museum!  I am not sure which part of the day was the favorite.  I think it’s a toss up between the totally cool firetruck complete with lights and sirens or the “house” downstairs that allowed the kids to really use their imagination and think up all kinds of fire scenarios.  We used this time to remind the kids about crawling under the smoke in a fire and of course, no fire related trip would be complete without STOP, DROP and ROLL!

We found that the museum offers rooms for birthday parties and other gatherings.  The rooms that hold the parties are the actual mess hall and bunk quarters from when this museum was an operating firehouse.  They still have their original (built in) lockers, but the kitchen has been updated.  A necessity, I am sure.

I was so excited when the museum employee told me that they already had TWO (2) other Tropicana Juicy Rewards redemption certificates in the drawer!  What are the odds?  I thought that was pretty exciting!  I wonder if those were from readers of Nickels-n-Dimes????

The Cincinnati Fire Museum has taken on a bit of a name change it seems.  You can find them on Facebook under Fire Museum of Greater Cincinnati.  Tickets for adults are $7, kids (6-17) are $5 and seniors 65+ are $6.  Kids 5 and under are FREE!    With the Juicy Rewards program, you are only paying $3.50 / $2.50 / $3.00.

I am going to leave you with a video of our trip and the fun things to do at the museum.  Soon, I am pretty sure I will have another update on another great JUICY outting!  It was so easy to print and redeem these rewards.

I would like to thank my cousin Shannon and her kids for spending the day with us!  Thanks to the Cincinnati Fire Museum for allowing us to have so much fun and THANK YOU to Tropicana and The Motherhood.com for this opportunity.  Because of your contact, I took the step that I had been dragging feet on of going to the museum.  We have wanted to do this for some time.  I never would have even paid attention to the rewards program on our cartons and that would have been a shame!

Jim Davis, the firefighter noted in this post, is a 35 year old father and husband that can no longer fight fires.  His story is so very sad and just one example of the dangers of his chosen career.  I encourage you to visit HOPE FOR A HERO and read his story and if you are able to contribute in some way, please do so.  His story is not a story of “Jim”, but of firefighters in general and they deserve our support!  (The firefighter with Jim in the final photo is my twin brother Jeff!)

Oh wow, I’ve got tears streaming down my cheeks after watching your fantastic video. The tribute is just so moving and beautifully put together. And your son with the fire helmet on – ADORABLE!!!!!!!!! Very cool that Tropicana let you save so much money. Sounds like an all around perfect day out with your cousin and the kids!!!

Becky,
It looks like you guys had a blast at the museum. I think it would be cool to have a party there and let the kids run wild then eat cake and ice creame. I also wanted to thank you for bringing Jim into this. He is not doing well and you continue to help with sliding his issue in when you can. We are going to look into the point program and see where we can go….It looked like a lot of fun.

I am so excited you guys liked the video. I wanted to capture the entire essence of the day and I think I pulled it off

! It was a blast and seriously….without those Tropicana rewards, we probably would still be sitting here talking about going instead of actually doing it. The money we saved on those tickets allowed us to get the kids a little something from the gift shop before we left. The day was a win-win for everyone!

What a great post! I love the video. Isn’t it fun to find those out of the way museums. I’d never think to go to a fire museum. Very cool. And love that you saved $12!! ;)
