As some of you may already know, this past week was incredibly challenging for me. We have to adjust to new schedules, routines and so much more. So, in an effort to keep my head from exploding with the commotion of the household, I decided to order two (2) dry erase wall calendars to track all that we have going on and to make sure that I don’t allow something to slip by.
I went to Amazon, selected two (2) of these Magnetic Dry Erase Wall Calendars (complete with a cork strip). I wanted to be able to track the current month and the upcoming month and be able to see them side by side. I placed them in my shopping cart and this is where the fun begins….
I then logged into my Swagbucks account. I started to copy and paste codes from the $5 e-gift cards that I had earned by doing nothing more than searching the web. I was able to bring my total from approx $40 down to $0 (YES, ZERO). Since shipping was free on these items, I did not have to worry about covering the shipping cost which only added to my excitement of this purchase!
The funny thing with this is that I started out in the position that you may find yourself right now. I did not “get” Swagbucks and did not really invest much time into searching through their link. Then one day it just clicked. I downloaded their toolbar and I started to search everything – even my very own Nickels-n-Dimes! I searched Facebook and every other site that I wanted to visit. By doing this, I started accumulating points which later translates into prizes (or in my case, Amazon e-Gift Cards). I refer friends – earning points off of their searches. I look for hidden codes (not as much as I should), earning more codes. I search, search, search on Fridays because those Mega Swag Bucks days, meaning you earn even more!
It pays to check out and use Swagbucks! This past Christmas, I was able to purchase $80 worth of toys from Amazon for $0 (YES, ZERO) out of pocket! SCORE! When you create your account, make sure you also download the toolbar so you can easily search as you navigate the web!
Some tips when cashing in your points:
- Compare prize levels. I cash in for $5 Amazon E-Gift Cards. By getting 5 of these in this manner ($25 total), I only use 2250 points. If you purchase a $25 Amazon E-Gift Card, you will pay out 3150 points. It pays to pay attention!
- You can only get 2 prizes per day so if you want to get to that $25 E-Gift Card level, it will take 3 days. Plan ahead.
- Make sure to note that you can cash in your Swag points every day, but these gift cards are only awarded twice a month – the 1st and the 16th. Plan accordingly. I cash in every so often just so that I have these gift cards waiting for me for times like this!
What kinds of things have you used your points for from Swagbucks? Are you points starting to accumulate?

I love swagbucks just need to use my points and amazon gift cards now to get some things for kids
I’ve been using swagbucks for over a year now. I bought my subscription to All You magazine through Amazon to save even more. I always use them for the Amazon $5 gift cards too. I have even used these gift cards to puchase a $25 gift card to give as a gift to someone. I am not sure exactly how much I have earned since beginning, but it is effortless. I don’t usually search for codes–too time consuming and it is frustrating for me. However, using swagbucks tool bar to search the internet is the easiest way to earn free stuff.
Hmmm, I’m going to have to read the info on this more closely! I may have signed up a yr or so ago,but I think, I opted out. I was new to all this, (as well as computer use in general!), and overwhelmed myself by signing up for WAY too many things. Trying to figure it all out, as well as know what was “worth it” was beyond me! That’s where reading these type things, from people like you all who do not sign up for everything helps me decide whether it makes sense to do. Sounds like it does!
I have read about Swag bucks. However, I definitely do not understand how to get them or how they work!! Would greatly appreciate some information

When you snag an Amazon gift card do they expire? Is there a limit to the amount of gift cards you can use when purchasing something on amazon? Just to clarify you just copy and paste the codes swagbucks has given you at the checkout page on Amazon. Sorry for all the questions.
Chris,
A) never apologize for questions!
B) They don’t expire (at least not to my knowledge).
C) I have used many at one time and never had a problem. Unlike promo codes where you may be limited at certain sites, these are considered money. It’s just like paying with more than one form of payment – only this payment does not effect your wallet! SCORE!
D) Yep! Copy, paste and love those little codes. The great news about them as well – if you don’t use them all during that trip, they stay on your account until the next time you order. Sometimes, I go ahead and enter them simply so I don’t lose them or forget to use them.
GOOD LUCK and if you have any other questions, never hesitate! I TRY to keep up but sometimes that can be quite a challenge. If that happens, we have lots of friends around here that can offer their thoughts and help as well. We’ve got a great crew!
Chris,
Becky is SERIOUS, I’ve asked tons of questions over time!! When I figured she must be ready to throw something at me, she tells me I’m not a bother!!
We all learn from others questions!! I pick up new tips by reading, so keep asking!!
You have NEVER been a bother to me – ever!
When I had gone back to school, I considered online classes, but I know I would never do well with those because I always learn more from the interaction of others. Someone asks a question (one I either thought about or never even would have considered) and then I not only learn that, but so much more from other questions that follow.
I love questions!!!
Thanks gals!!!
