I just happened to purchase a membership at the end of August prior to this September discount offer. I contacted the zoo to ask if there was any way for my account to be refunded, and they happily informed me that for members in my situation they are offering “Zoo Bucks” in the amount of the difference between a regularly priced and discounted priced membership. In my case $30. He said the “Zoo Bucks” can be spent anywhere in the zoo – rides, food, gift shop, etc. Made me not so upset that I missed their discount.

That’s awesome that they extended some kind of offer to those in your position. Like you said…it kind of softens the blow of missing out on $30 membership savings!
