HOPE FOR A HERO

backpack

If you were here about a year ago, you know that I tried to collect as many school supplies as I could to donate.  I had a few wonderful ladies help me out (ok, so they family members, but they still count, right?).  My blog was BRAND new and they were probably the only ones reading, but we pulled together and were able to get LOTS to donate.  I can’t begin to tell you what a great feeling this was to do this for kids in need.

This year (ok, this week), I decided to step it up a notch.  I am under great time constraints and working hard to make this event one worth checking out.  We have some great sponsors already for this event donating items for lucky winners the day of the charity drive…

  • Meijer
  • The Cincinnati Zoo
  • Tutu Classy Couture
  • Two Men and a Truck – See this story…
  • MJ Designs
  • McDonalds
  • Discovery Toys
  • Cock-n-Bull English Pub
  • Avon
  • Mary Kay
  • Stampin’ It Up
  • Bella Donna Couture
  • Thrity One
  • etc…

I think that with your help, we can all really make a difference!

I am disability retired from teaching, but my heart
will always be with helping kids. I have seen posts about donating backpacks, school supplies, etc., but
thought it was more of a “generic” giving, in other words I thought it was more of a reminder to help those in need, not a specific drive. I did see posts about a coupon swap on 8/1, but never realized they were related. Organizing BOTH these together- great idea, I admire your creativity, caring, and HARD work.I had hoped to attend a swap for the first time, and definitely would have with the combo with this super drive event, but my daughter has a drivers test scheduled at 2:00 that day (can’t change, as she just finished college and started a job – needs license!) Anyway, good luck! Hopefully others will make connection between the 2 events, (maybe other bloggers might want to remind readers) and you’ll get TONS of donations.Good luck and hopefully next year? I truly admire you for what you are doing to help others.
