Warning: Living Social’s Fandango deal may not be a deal

I think every blogger has posted about the ever so awesome Living Social deal that is currently out and offering TWO (2) Fandango Movie Tickets for just $9. Surely by now, you’ve seen it, right?

The problem with this (and some other deals of this nature) is that they are not accepted or usable everywhere.

Before my “departure” from NnD, I posted this same deal when it ran at the beginning of the year. I informed my readers that this was in fact something we could all use.

My information was inaccurate and I found out the hard way.

When the time came to use my tickets, I realized that simply being able to view my theatres in this area did not mean I could PURCHASE tickets for those very same theatres in this area. At the time of posting, I did not realize that simply finding my theatre listed did not mean anything other than – “hey…I can see the movie times”.

So, my word of advice is to not only check for your theatre, but to verify that it does in fact have online ticketing before selecting that BUY button.

If you have already purchased and now find out that you are in the same boat I was in a few months back, don’t worry! Living Social was very nice in allowing me to quickly and painlessly take care of the situation and obtain a credit. I called 877.521.4191 (US), explained my predicament and just like that, the problem was rectified.

Keep this situation in mind for your future Daily Deal purchases to make sure that you go that extra mile to make sure that the deal before you – is truly a deal FOR YOU!
