Ingredients for Acorn Cookies

Looking for a fall treat that’s fun and easy to make? Look no further than these easy no-bake acorn cookies.

I first saw a picture of these on Pinterest, but they weren’t linked to a recipe or a blog post. After looking at them, I figured they were most likely made with Nilla Wafers, Hershey’s Kisses and Peanut Butter Chips. ( I also saw another picture of Acorn Cookies on Pinterest that looked like they were made with Nutter Butter Bites, but since I couldn’t find them at the store, I went with Nilla wafers).

Please excuse the photo quality. One of these days I'll get a real camera and learn how to take good pictures!

I wasn’t sure if they used the regular size or the mini Nilla Wafers, but after eyeballing the Hershey’s kisses, I decided to go with Mini Nilla Wafers and they worked perfectly!  If you can find mini peanut butter chips, I think those would work even better than the regular sized ones.

Here’s what you’ll need to make these cookies:

  • Mini Nilla Wafers
  • Hershey’s Kisses
  • Peanut Butter Chips (I couldn’t find a bag of peanut butter chips, so I went with a bag of peanut butter chips and chocolate chips and picked out the peanut butter chips to use for this project.)
  • Peanut Butter (use it as glue)

Place your Nilla wafers on a plate with the flat side facing up.  Spread peanut butter on the bottom of an unwrapped Hershey’s Kiss and stick it to the center of the Nilla wafer.  Then add peanut butter to the bottom of your peanut butter chips and place it on the other side of your Nilla wafer.  The result will be tasty acorn cookies that take only seconds to make.

I made a whole plate of these in just a few minutes.  The longest part of the whole project was unwrapping the Hershey’s Kisses!

Now you’ve got a quick, easy and fun fall snack!

cute! I did something similar but didn’t think of using peanut butter (I used melted chocolate chips). But peanut butter would mean kid helpers could do it much more easily-nothing to get burnt on!
